The conservation research–practice gap: a case study of a threatened bird

Abstract Conservation research is less often applied in practice than desirable for the optimization of conservation outcomes. We evaluated this research–practice gap a threatened passerine, Dupont's lark Chersophilus duponti . reviewed literature and classified interventions proposed by scientists as regulation legislation, monitoring research, or management. sent questionnaire to managers responsible species conservation, gather information about reasons implementing, not, each intervention. found 16 literature, which 13 (81.2%) had been at least once. disparity between frequency scientific recommendations actions implemented managers: some measures with high consensus were rarely adopted, whereas approaches frequently more managers.
